Flamingo Film Festival 2017

FFF Submission Guidelines (Please carefully read these guidelines before filling out the entry form.)

Entrant must be enrolled as a student at a university, college or other post-secondary institution at the time of production. Therefore, entrant must include proof of student status at the time of production. Please include a copy of a current student ID with your entry.

Films and videos are limited to 20 minutes or less.

Multiple submissions are allowed.

Films and videos must be completed on or after January 1, 2016.

Foreign language films must be subtitled in English for festival exhibition.

A completed entry form must accompany each film or video. All forms, fees and films or videos must be received by the submission deadline. Only complete entries will be processed.

Films and videos must be submitted on DVD NTSC/Region 1. Please test your DVD before sending. If a DVD is non-playable, it will not be considered for selection. Please do not send film prints, master tapes, or other originals.

Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authorization to submit the entry into the festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

Entrant permits usage of clips from the entry for promotional use on television, radio, in print and at live Festival events.


All submissions will be through FilmFreeway


1 – All entrants will be notified by email when their film or video has been received.

2 – For publication purposes, entries selected will be required to supply three high-resolution stills from the film and at least one high-resolution photograph of the film’s director. Publicity and press materials will not be returned and become property of the film festival. The Flamingo Film Festival has permission to use excerpts from any accepted film for promotional purposes.

3 – If accepted, entrants will be notified by email on or before April 17th, 2016.


Submission fee is $10 (USD)

Categories and Awards

Flamingo Film Festival reserves the right and has discretion to change submission category for an entry.

The Festival strives to recognize student achievements in film and video. Therefore, the Festival will be juried and competitive. Payment of the entry fee does not guarantee a screening. The Festival jury will present awards to films and videos selected as best in whatever categories they see fit.

Travel and Accommodations

Travel and accommodations are the sole responsibility of the entrant. However, in some circumstances assistance in finding accommodations may be provided.
